Consultation
Consultation for scheme members - Investment Strategy Statement (ISS)
Under the LGPS (Pooling, Management and Investment of Funds) Regulation 2026, which came into force on 30 June 2026, every LGPS Fund in England and Wales must publish an Investment Strategy Statement (ISS). This statement must set out the administering authority's objectives, priorities and preferences in relation to the investment of the funds and assets for which it is responsible.
The ISS is subject to a consultation with all key stakeholders, including scheme members. This is your opportunity to be involved.
Your LGPS fund, Lincolnshire Pension Fund, has drafted its ISS in line with the statutory guidance and we are asking for your views on its content.
The ISS sets out the Fund’s:
- investment objectives
- risk appetite
- asset allocation
- governance arrangements
It provides transparency and accountability to all stakeholders. It is important because it formalises how the Fund manages risk, responds to market conditions, and integrates factors such as stewardship into its strategy. The ISS also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. It supports informed decision-making by clearly articulating how the Fund aims to achieve its long-term funding goals while safeguarding the interests of members and employers alike.
Your feedback is important to us. Your responses will:
- help us understand what matters most to you
- highlight any concerns
- identify areas for improvement
This will support better decision making and help us develop an investment strategy that is clear, balanced, and focused on delivering strong long term outcomes.

Send any comments to LGPSpensions@lincolnshire.gov.uk with the subject heading of ISS Consultation.
This consultation will close on 20 August. Comments will be fed back to our Pensions Committee, the decision-making body for the Fund, before they approve the final version of the ISS at their September meeting.
