Greater Lincolnshire Skills Bootcamps

Skills Bootcamps areflexible courses of at least 60 hours of training. They give people the opportunity to gain new skills. If you take part in a Skills Bootcamp, the training provider will support you to: 

  • get a job with a local employer
  • progress with your current employer
  • win new contracts for your business

Skills Bootcamps are free to all learners and can be:

  • online
  • face-to-face
  • a mixture of both depending on the subject

You must live and work (or have the intention of working) in Greater Lincolnshire to be eligible for a local course.

If your employer wants you to complete the Skills Bootcamp, they must pay a contribution based on the size of the business.

Skills Bootcamps are for:

  • most adults over the age of 19  
  • adults who are unemployed, or self-employed to get the skills they need to find a job or gain new contracts
  • adults who are already working and thinking of switching careers
  • adults who are returning to work after a break
  • adults with a job who want to remain with their existing employer and learn new skills

Information for businesses

Employers who want to train their own staff can take part in Skills Bootcamps. Businesses will need to make a small contribution to the cost of the course:

  • 10% for small and medium-sized businesses
  • 30% for large businesses

The government funds the rest.  

Employers can also offer job interviews to people who have completed Skills Bootcamps.
