GSRR June update

Final surfacing to be laid at A52 Somerby Hill roundabout.

What we achieved in May

Phase Two

  • Carried out southbound drainage, street-lighting verge works on the A1
  • Final drainage and landscaping works across site
  • Surfacing to new link roads and roundabouts

Phase Three

  • West side of site – completed piling at pier 3
  • East side of site – surfacing from Whalebone Lane to Somerby Hill / continue rock processing and main road excavation / carried out additional ground investigation works at east embankment / continued drainage, ducting and kerbing works at Somerby Hill roundabout

What's happening in June

Phase Three

  • East side of site – complete rock processing and main road excavation / lay surfacing at Somerby Hill roundabout / drainage works at new mid-route roundabout

Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures

  • Ongoing lane closures on the B1174 roundabout until the end of the scheme
  • Temporary traffic signals and lane closures as needed at Somerby Hill Roundabout

Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures

  • From 6th June for up to three weeks – full 24/7 closure of the B1176 and B6403 Somerby Hill roundabout legs; other legs will operate under temporary traffic signals
    • B1176 diversion route via B6403 / A151 / B1193 / A15 / A52, and vice versa
    • B6403 diversion route via B1176 / A1 / B1174 / A52, and vice versa
  • Between 20th June and 1st July – night-time closure of the A52 Somerby Hill roundabout legs from 8pm to 6am for 5-7 evenings
    • Diversion routes via all of the following (on-route signage will be in place directing traffic to their specific destination):
      • A52 / A607 / A153 / A15 / A52, and vice versa
      • A52 / A15 / B1193 / A151 / B6403, and vice versa
      • A52 / B1174 / A1, and vice versa
