The iconic medieval venue becomes the city’s most scenic beer garden from 23 July to 7 August.

Picnic Social is a social summer gathering celebrating locally sourced food, beer, culture and community of Greater Lincolnshire, in the beautiful grounds of Lincoln Castle. Join us for a three week-long summer gathering celebrating the best of Lincolnshire’s food culture and community.

By day, discover and indulge in the region’s finest produce in the summer sun. By night, kick back to a summer soundtrack with craft beers and artisan spirits, and sample incredible eats to suit every taste.

Cllr Lindsey Cawrey, executive councillor for heritage at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Picnic Social is a fantastic festival of food, beer and live entertainment! We've even got wine tasting events and early morning yoga.

"We went with friends on Saturday evening as it’s the perfect place to meet up with friends and family to grab a bite to eat, something to drink, and just relax listening to music.

“During the past two years, when people's routines and plans were severely curtailed due to the pandemic, the grounds of Lincoln Castle became a key community meeting spot. So we really wanted to bring something special to Lincoln Castle this summer with that community focus in mind.

“We’re really pleased to be working with local company, Major Label, who understand our Greater Lincolnshire communities and are able to bring on board local producers and vendors from across the county to firmly put a Lincolnshire stamp on it."

Picnic Social is open from 10am to 5pm daily with late opening on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July, Thursday 28 to Sunday 31 July, and Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 August from 5pm to 11pm.

We appreciate that your four-legged friends enjoy socialising as much as you. Bring along your furry companion to our Dog Friendly weekend on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July.

On Saturdays, Sundays and Friday nights there will be a small charge of £3 in place for those accessing just the grounds for Picnic Social. The Castle grounds, inclusive of Picnic Social, will remain free to Castle ticket and annual pass holders.

Keep up to date with Picnic Social on the Lincoln Castle’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, and visit www.picnicsocial.co.uk for more info.
