Foster carers are needed across the county from all backgrounds. What really matters is that you can offer a child, or sibling group, a loving and stable family home.
The fostering team are running a friendly and welcoming online information event, which will provide advice from some of our very own experienced foster carers, as well as information about the assessment process and what support is available from our fostering community.
This is being held via Zoom on Thursday 15 September at 6.30pm. Book your place via Eventbrite.
Cllr Mrs Patricia Bradwell OBE, executive member for children’s services, said: “It’s not only full-time foster carers who are needed. We are also looking to recruit short break fosterers, those who may not be able to commit full time but still want to make a difference in a local child’s life.
“Short break fostering is a great way to support your fostering community, as it is helpful for full time carers and children in care, as well as a life changing experience for those who try it. It’s a great option that helps local full-time carers make time for their own self-care, while it also helps our children create lifelong memories while expanding their network of trusted adults.”
As the number of children needing fosterers in the county grows, we are always looking for anyone who can support us in any way they can. More information about fostering, including short break fostering, can be found via our website here.
