Educational transport updates

Small children running across a school yard

Lincolnshire County Council’s Transport Services is experiencing high volumes of applications for educational travel.

UPDATE:

Lincolnshire County Council’s Transport Services is aware of delays and problems in the receipt of bus passes by students for educational travel. We recognise this causes concern and we are working urgently to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Students and parents/carers can call 01522 782020 to find out the status of their bus pass application. If they are eligible for a pass and have already incurred expenses for educational travel, they will be reimbursed. Please retain all relevant receipts and tickets until your bus pass arrives.

Different bus operators have different approaches, so some drivers may let a passenger on without a pass, others will not. Passengers will need to follow the drivers’ instructions.

If you have contacted the educational travel team to enquire about your pass in the last two weeks, you do not need to get back in touch. The Team is currently processing all applications and queries.

We apologise for all inconvenience caused.

Unfortunately there have been problems with bus passes and the details of travel arrangements reaching parent carers through the post.

The team is working to re-issue those bus passes it knows not to have been received, and they are working with bus operators to ensure they have passenger lists so pupils can provide their name to the driver if they do not have a pass.

If you would like to report that your bus pass hasn't arrived, or if you have any further enquiries, please call our call centre on 01522 782 020 where you will be directed to a dedicated line where these enquiries are dealt with. Please have your information ready, including school name, child's name and your home address.

If you have enquiries regarding bus timetables, please contact the company who provides your childs school transport to get a copy of this. To find out which company is providing the transport, ring the call centre on 01522 782 020 and they will be able to tell you.
