Grantham Southern Relief Road January update

GSRR Phase Two

Phase two and three work continues.

What we achieved in December

Phase Two

  • Opened Phase Two of Grantham Southern Relief Road, which connects the A1 and B1174
  • Laid lining and high friction surfacing on new section of A1
  • Installed signage for the new A1 junction with the relief road

Phase Three

  • West side of site – carry out works to concrete infills at Pier 3 / install drainage and continue finishing works to Pond B / install filter drains near the west embankment
  • East side of side – complete verge finishings at Whalebone Lane / continue Pier 4 concreting works / sub-base trim at development roundabout / excavate and remove east embankment back to the location of the new east abutment

What's happening in January

Phase Three

  • West side of site – continue concrete infills at Piers 1 and 2 / complete drainage to Pond B / continue drainage works near the west embankment
  • East side of side – continue Pier 4 concreting works / complete excavation of east embankment back to the location of the new east abutment / carry out kerbing installation and surfacing at development roundabout / complete surfacing between Whalebone Lane and development roundabout

Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures

  • Lane Restrictions Around the B1174 Roundabout to facilitate the construction of the haul route and access into site
  • Whalebone Lane closed
  • Lane restrictions around Somerby Hill Roundabout
