Grantham Southern Relief Road February update

Phase three is progressing well, with the west side embankment structural steelwork now complete.

What we achieved in January

Phase three
  • West side of site – completed structural steelwork elements to piers / continued drainage works near the west embankment
  • East side of side – continued surfacing between Whalebone Lane and development roundabout / completed excavation of east embankment back to the location of the new east abutment / carried out kerbing installation and surfacing at development roundabout / continued Pier 4 concreting works

What's happening in February

Phase three
  • West side of site – continue concrete infills at Piers 1 and 2 / complete drainage to Pond B / continue drainage works near the west embankment
  • East side of side – install main steelwork to Pier 4 / begin finishing works to development roundabout area verges / begin construction of working platforms for piling new elements of bridge / white lining along the newly-built road / complete surfacing between Whalebone Lane and development roundabout

Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures

  • Lane Restrictions Around the B1174 Roundabout to facilitate the construction of the haul route and access into site
  • Whalebone Lane closed
