The new 33-metre long Heighington Road bridge above the bypass opened to traffic on Friday 31 January.
What we achieved in January
- Installed footpath fencing, removed street lighting and planed existing road surface along Hawthorn Road
- Carried out enabling works ahead of roundabout construction at Washingborough Road
- Built compound and excavated east base for Greetwell footbridge
- Continued deck and wing wall construction, along with grouting the permanent bearings for the River Witham Viaduct
- Continued bank seat works and prepared for delivery of beams for South Delph footbridge superstructure
- Completed essential kerbing and surfacing works to new Heighington Road bridge
- Re-open Heighington Road
- Completed wing wall construction and waterproofing for Lincoln Road underpass
- Completed base backfill and constructed temporary working platforms for Bloxholm Lane footbridge
- Continued post-excavation archaeological reporting
What's happening in February
- Remove kerbs and footways at St Augustine Road
- Remove street lighting, plane out existing asphalt and begin earthworks and drainage works at Washingborough Road
- Begin drainage works between Washingborough Road and Heighington Road
- Begin filter drain installation between Lincoln Road and Sleaford Road
- Off-site fabrication of permanent parapets for Hawthorn Road footbridge
- Construct and backfill bases for Greetwell footbridge
- Continue installing rebar and shuttering and begin concreting to deck and wing walls for River Witham Viaduct
- Delivery, fabrication and lifting of bridge deck for South Delph footbridge superstructure
- Begin backfill to Lincoln Road underpass
- Continue abutment and wing wall works for Bloxholm Lane footbridge
- Continue post-excavation archaeological reporting
