The diversion routes for the night-time closure will be via the A1434 Newark Road / B1190 Doddington Road / A1192 Tritton Road / Moorland Avenue, and vice versa.

Karen Cassar, Assistant Director – Highways, said: “We always carry out tests to ensure newly-laid road surfacing meets the high standards we expect.

“Unfortunately, some of the surface course material laid two years ago on Rookery Lane hasn’t met our stringent quality requirements.

“As a result, the contractor will be replacing this surfacing as part of our contract with them, at their own cost.”

The works will start on Sunday 29 September for two evenings. As part of this, a night-time road closure will be in place on Rookery Lane in Lincoln, between Hainton Road and Newark Road, from 10pm to 6am on Sunday and 11pm to 6am on Monday.

The diversion routes for the night-time closure will be via the A1434 Newark Road / B1190 Doddington Road / A1192 Tritton Road / Moorland Avenue, and vice versa.

Karen Cassar continued: “Repairing these defects now will not only save the council money and time in the future, but it will prevent further disruption in the area down the line.

“Because these works will inevitably cause some disruption, I want to thank everyone in advance for bearing with us.”
