A16 in Sibsey set for major improvements

Sibsey div route 1

Works to improve the A16 in Sibsey will start in March.

Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “As part of our major resurfacing programme for this year, we’ll be rebuilding a 2 ¾ mile long section of the A16 in Sibsey that’s starting to fail.

“This will be a huge piece of work, with the team expecting to use over 4,800 tonnes of tarmac and other road-building materials to complete the job.”

Cllr Thomas Ashton, county councillor for Tattershall Castle, said: “I’m very happy that these roadworks will be happening because this section of the A16 desperately needs to be repaired.

“I look forward to driving on the resurfaced road when it’s ready, and I know that others will enjoy the safer, smoother journeys too.”
