New section of footway planned for Mumby Road in Huttoft

Construction of a new section of footway near the Huttoft Primary & Nursery School car park will start in April.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “During Easter break in April, we will be carrying out work to extend the footpath between the school car park and the garage in Huttoft. We’ll also be resurfacing the footway near the carpark and installing new tactile paving.

“We don’t expect these works to be very disruptive, however, 24/7 temporary signals are essential to ensure the safety of our workforce. I want to thank everyone in advance for their patience when we start these works in the coming weeks.”

Cllr Colin Matthews, county councillor for Alford and Sutton, said: “I’m very pleased that the county council’s highways team will be carrying out this important project for the people of Huttoft. When finished, it will create a safer route between the car park and garage for the local community.

“I also want to take the opportunity to thank the two property owners who have dedicated land to the council so we can extend the footpath. Without their generosity, this project wouldn’t be possible.”
