Road reconstruction works to this major thoroughfare in Lincoln will start this spring.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “Starting at the end of May, we’ll be carrying out a month-long scheme to fully rebuild Clasketgate in Lincoln, which is starting to show some signs of major wear.
“This will be no small feat, as the team is expecting to lay over 600 tonnes of tarmac after excavating the entirety of the road.
“We’ll also be repairing some of the footways and kerbs along West Parade and Hungate up West Parade’s Beaumont Fee junction, including widening the carriageway at Corporation Street’s junction with Hungate.”

Karen Cassar added: “With this project taking place in the very heart of Lincoln, there will no doubt be some disruption in the area – but we'll be doing all we can to keep this to an absolute minimum. This includes limiting road closures to four Sundays and six weekday nights.
“During these closures, and throughout the project generally, we encourage people to leave extra time for their journeys through Lincoln city centre.”
