Major repairs to the A15 in Dunsby will start at the end of this month.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “This section of the A15 is starting to fail, so we’ve taken the decision to rebuild it to avoid further cost and disruption down the line.
“However, reconstructing this section of road won’t be an easy task. In fact, the team will be using over 3,600 tonnes of tarmac and other road-building materials to complete the job.”
Dates and timeframes
Monday 30 June for up to one month
Location of works
A15, between Brauncewell and Cranwell – including the Westcliffe Road and Long Lane junctions
Traffic management
Night-time road closure from 7pm to 6am (weekday evenings only), with reduced speed limit in place 24/7 during the project
Diversion route
Via A15 / A17 / A153 / B1188 / B1191 / A15, vice versa
Karen Cassar added: “There will be some disruption during the works, but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum including only closing the road overnight – when there are fewer vehicles on the road.”
