The event will take place on Monday 7 July.
Cllr Michael Cheyne, executive member for highways, said: “Since earlier this year, the highways team has been carrying out behind the scenes work – like feasibilities and design – for major improvements to the A46 Nettleham Roundabout.
“We are now ready to share these plans so have arranged a public information event in Nettleham on 7th July so residents, businesses and anyone else can meet our project team, ask questions and find out more.
“The project team will have plans and schematics on-hand to look at during the event, along with engineers who can answer any questions people have. We will also have some artist’s illustrations and a video flythrough so people can see what the finished product would look like.
“We encourage anyone wanting to find out more about the project to stop in and see us on 7th July.
“By making the roundabout bigger, traffic would flow much better. Villages north of Lincoln would also be better, and more safely, connected to the city centre thanks to a new foot and cycle bridge over the A46.”
The A46 Nettleham Roundabout Improvements public information event will take place at The Old School Halls (Mill Hill, LN2 2PE) from 2pm to 8pm.
Plans for improving the roundabout include:
- Adding an extra lane to the roundabout
- Building new entrance and exit lanes
- Building a brand-new footbridge / cycle bridge over the A15 East leg of the roundabout
Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, said: “This new roundabout should help traffic flow and improve the safety at what is currently a very busy junction. It’s being part-funded by the government as part of our devolution deal, and I’ll be pushing for more investment in the new roads and transport improvements we need here. Lincolnshire’s road network receives less money than other areas and I will be speaking up for rural areas with the government, to make sure we are not left behind.”
Following the public information event, the next steps for the project are for a planning application to be submitted for the new bridge while continuing with the project’s design. Work on-site is expected to start in Spring 2026 until Spring 2027.
