Not long left before the offer to bag a tailored sunshine energy deal for your home comes to an end.

You’ve got until the end of July to get in on the deal being run in conjunction with Lincolnshire County Council.

It’s all about getting solar on your house with good kit at a good price, but it only runs until the end of July, so if you’re interested then you need to get a move on.

Hundreds of people have already registered for the scheme where experts do the legwork and there’s no commitment needed to find out what’s on offer for where you live.

The way the scheme operates is simple. Households across the county register and their locations are pooled together which then lets iChoosr use that interest to negotiate prices for the necessary kit.

The scheme, called Solar Together, allows the leverage of collective buying power to negotiate better rates from trusted solar panel providers. It takes the guesswork out of bagging a better solar deal.

This group-buying scheme provides homeowners with the opportunity to invest in solar panels and battery storage, with optional EV charge points, as well as retrofit battery storage for those who have already invested in solar panels and are looking to maximize the renewable energy they generate.

How it works

It’s a simple process to get involved in Solar Together.

  • Register for free online. There's no obligation and the more people that register, the better the deal for each household
  • Approved solar installers will then bid for the work in a reverse ‘auction’. The most competitive offer wins the auction
  • You will then receive a personal outline of what’s on offer based on your registration details. This includes costs and specifics of your installation
  • You decide. There’s four weeks in which you can accept the recommendation or stop the process. There is no obligation to continue

The scheme also covers battery storage to save the unused energy that is generated by the solar panels on your roof, meaning you can use that energy any time of the day or night. There’s even the possibility of earning money from your unused solar power, being able to export it back to the grid.

Cllr Danny Brookes, Executive member for Environment at LCC said: “It’s great news that we’ve already had hundreds of people signing up to see what Solar Together can do for them.

“With just a few weeks left until the scheme sign-up ends, I’d urge anyone who is thinking about solar panels on their house, or is even just curious about it, to sign up and begin the no-commitment process.

“For private households, buying solar can feel like a scary proposition to start with, often left trying to balance suppliers with products.

“This scheme puts the power back in the hands of the individual with good prices for good quality systems. And all without any obligation. We are involved in Solar Together because we want this to be a useful tool for every Lincolnshire homeowner who wants to explore the solar option.”
