Phase 2 of the Queens Road path improvement is happening.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for Highways at Lincolnshire County Council said: “These works are the second and final phase of the Queens Road footpath scheme. The first phase was completed last year.
“Not only will there be a much improved footpath because of these works, but we’ve also been able to work into the scheme new, improved pedestrian crossing points too.”
Location of works
The works will be carried out at Queens Road, Spalding between St Paul’s Road and Low Road.
Dates and times
The works will begin on Wednesday 23 July and have a scheduled end date of Friday 19 September. Work times onsite will be from 07.30 to 17.30, subject to suitable weather.
Traffic management
A road closure is required for the duration of the works with a diversion route in place throughout.
Additional Temporary traffic lights will be in place whilst working around the junction with St Paul’s Road and Thames Road.
Diversion route
The signed diversion route will be; Holbeach Road / A16 / Low Road and vice versa.

Cadent Gas Supply Replacement Works: Be aware that Cadent Gas will be undertaking a gas supply replacement scheme in the area ahead of our planned works. Their team will commence on site prior to our scheme and will continue to work in coordination with us under the road closure once our works begin. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Cadent Gas works, please contact their customer services team on 0800 389 8000.
Karen Cassar added: “These works will cost around £200,000 to deliver and will mean a smoother, upgraded footpath surface to benefit pedestrians.
“This improvement is another part of our ongoing road uplift across the county and because of the nature of the work, we have to put a diversion route using like-for-like roads in place to ensure the safety of road users and the work crew.
“I would like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding whilst we deliver this footpath improvement for Queens Road.?
