From Tuesday 21 April, Lincolnshire County Council will be resurfacing the stretch of road from the Wygate Park junction to Nursery Way.
Work on the quarter-of-a-mile section of road – which passes Spalding Primary School – is expected to be finished by Saturday 25 April.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, said:
"This section of the Woolram Wygate has reached the end of its life, so we're taking the opportunity now the school is closed to resurface it.
"We're following guidelines from the Department for Transport and public health so that we can keep crews safe whilst carrying out essential maintenance like this.
"Across the county, we're still out in force to make sure our roads are safe for NHS and care workers, and those making essential journeys."
Traffic will be diverted along Pinchbeck Road, Park Road, and Pennygate.
