Did you know that Lincolnshire County Council’s Waste Services Team have dedicated staff delivering a unique initiative called the ‘Let’s Talk Rubbish Education Programme’?
Launched in 2022, the programme was originally designed for primary schools as an innovative and engaging way to teach children about important environmental topics. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, pupils learn about waste minimisation, recycling, and the importance of correct waste disposal.
The programme not only helps children understand these vital issues but also empowers them to take meaningful action in their schools, homes, and communities.
South Hykeham Community Primary School, said: “All of our classes thoroughly enjoyed their workshops and learnt a great deal about recycling, as did many of the adults too! The presenters were very informative, engaging and friendly. Thank you very much for a great day.”
As word has spread, demand has grown – and now the Waste Services Team are delighted to extend the workshops beyond schools. The programme is being offered to community groups, and local clubs across Lincolnshire, making it accessible to people of all ages.
The sessions are free to book and can be tailored to the needs of different groups, whether it’s a classroom of pupils, a youth club, or a community group meeting.
So, if you are a community organiser or club leader who would like the team to visit and deliver a workshop, you can get in touch by emailing LCCWasteOfficers@lincolnshire.gov.uk to book your place.
