Castlegate is getting improvements that will leave roads better to use and safer
Kyra Nettle, County Highways Manager at Lincolnshire County Council said: “Resurfacing these roads are the latest part of the ongoing improvements in Grantham.
“Because of the nature of the works, a road closure will be in place for the duration of the programme. Delays on the road may be possible and there will be no parking on Castlegate from 18.00 each day.”
Location of works
The works will be carried out at Castlegate, Grantham from the south of Church Street up to Avenue Road junction.
Dates and times
The works will begin on Monday, October 20 with a planned end date of Tuesday, October 28. Working hours will be between 19.00 and 06.00 daily – weeknight working only.
Traffic management
A road closure is required for the duration of the works with a diversion route in place throughout.
Diversion route
The signed diversion route will be; Church Street / Swinegate / B1174 / Avenue Road and vice versa.
Kyra Nettle added: “These surfacing works will cost around £55,000 to put in place and when they are completed there will be a very immediate improvement for those who use the local traffic network.
“We will do everything possible to reduce the impact of the works with machinery being turned off when not in use and all equipment used to have sound limiters fitted.
“I would like to thank everyone effected for their patience and understanding whilst we are delivering these improvements to this part of Grantham.”
