Southern end of North Hykeham’s Moor Lane set for resurfacing

Works to improve a 250m section of Moor Lane will start in late October.

Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “This 250m section of Moor Lane is starting to see an increase in potholes and cracks, which is leading to bumpy drives that could eventually become unsafe if we don’t act soon.

“Because of that, we’ll be resurfacing this area of Moor Lane to ensure it doesn’t get to that point.

“While on-site, we’ll also be taking the opportunity to replace some of the highways channels that are nearing the end of their life.”

Dates and timeframes

Friday 24 October for up to nine days, including weekends

Location of works

Moor Lane, at its junction with Lincoln Road to roughly 70m past its junction with Ravensmoor Close

Traffic management

24/7 road closure, including weekends

Diversion route

Lincoln Road / Hykeham Road / Newark Road / Moor Lane, and vice versa

Karen Cassar added: “We’ll be doing everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum, particularly carrying the works out during half term. However, that means a 24-7 road closure will need to be in place so we can ensure the scheme is finished when school restarts.

“In the meantime, I want to thank everyone for their patience and for bearing with us.”
