Here's a reminder that on Sunday, October 26th the clocks will go back, temporarily affecting the timings of the county's street lights.
There are around 42,000 streetlights across the county that are automatically switched off between the hours of roughly midnight until 6am.
Cllr Michael Cheyne, Executive Member for Highways, said: "With the nights drawing in, you might become aware that the part-night streetlights start to go off and come on at different times. This is as the system switches to GMT winter time, it's not a technical fault. The street lights have sensors that monitor the number of daylight hours and it's this bit of technology that sets eash unit's individual clock.
"Around the end of October every year, the lights enter a period of adjustment and as a result their timings may vary as they adapt to the switch to what's needed for winter. As it's part of the street light system and happens every year, it's unavoidable but will only l;ast for a short time and is only temporary."
