Repair work will take place on the A46 between the Carholme and Riseholme roundabouts on Thursday 30 April and Friday 1 May 2020.

Work is taking place to repair structural damage on a small section of the carriageway.

The repairs – on the northbound, inside lane – would ordinarily have taken place over a number of nights, with a full road closure on the busy dual-carriageway outside Lincoln.

However, due to the decrease in traffic on Lincolnshire's roads of up to 60 per cent, work will instead take place during the day with a lane-closure and temporary speed limit in place.

Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways at Lincolnshire County Council, said:

"We are still out on the roads, carrying out essential maintenance like this to ensure that key workers are those making necessary journeys can still travel around the county.

"We've worked hard with our contractors to ensure that staff working on these schemes are safe, changing our usual processes to implement social distancing."
