Section of the road getting a timely makeover.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for Highways at Lincolnshire County Council said: “We undertake this sort of proactive work to ensure that the road can be used as planned.
“Across the night, our crews will be out cutting grass, trimming hedges, treating weeds, cleaning signs and cleaning drains. WLDC litter picking operatives will also be in attendance.
"It’s essential work and needs to happen but would cause too much disruption during the day, so to keep that interruption to the traffic network as low as possible we do this scheme overnight.”
Location of works
The works will be carried out on the A46 Lincoln Bypass, between A46 Carholme RBT to A158 Wragby Road roundabout.
Dates and times
The works will happen overnight on Friday 14th November. Working hours will be between 19.00 and 06.00.
Traffic management
Diversion routes are in place. Roundabouts remain open to traffic travelling North-South.
Diversion route
The signed diversion route will be: A57 (Carholme Rd) – B1273 (The Avenue/Yarborough Rd/Yarborough Crescent/Longdales Rd) – B1182 (Ruskin Avenue) – A1434 (Wragby Road) and vice versa.
Karen Cassar added: “These works will cost around £20,000 to deliver and will ensure that surface water will shift off the road itself, improving safety.
“The grass and hedge work will help visibility, and the sign cleaning will maintain the appearance of this section of well used section of road.
“I would like to thank everyone effected for their patience and understanding whilst we are delivering these critical maintenance works to the Lincoln bypass.”
