Experience Lincoln Castle’s incredible history anytime, anywhere in the world
Lincoln Castle has launched its Bloomberg Connects profile, making it easier than ever for people to find out more and plan their visit to the award-winning monument.
Available online or via a free mobile app, Bloomberg Connects helps to connect cultural spaces to audiences, enabling visitors to explore arts and culture on their own time, at their own pace.
One of the highlights of the castle’s profile is the opportunity to listen to the popular medieval wall walk guide, where virtual visitors will follow in the footsteps of kings, courtiers, soldiers and criminals and meeting unforgettable characters along the way.
The app has been designed with accessibility in mind, and includes voice over, captions and audio transcripts, image zoom, and font size adjustment.
Kimberley Vickers, culture service manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Launching our Bloomberg Connects profile gives people a new way to discover Lincoln Castle and engage with its stories, whether they are planning a visit or exploring from further afield.
“The app allows us to share content like the medieval wall walk guide in a flexible, accessible format, and helps visitors explore the site at their own pace. It’s a valuable addition to how we present the castle’s history and I’m thrilled we have been able to help people to connect with the monument in ways that work for them.”

A landmark year
The launch of the castle’s Bloomberg Connects profile comes at an exciting time for the monument.
The castle’s much-loved light spectacle, Lincoln Castle Illuminated, shined brighter than ever this Christmas, with a record-breaking number of visitors enjoying the winter wonderland festivities.
On top of this, the castle team celebrated two awards this year - VisitEngland’s Gold accolade and the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award - the latter placing it in the top 10 per cent of visitor destinations worldwide.
Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive councillor for culture at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Lincoln Castle’s 2025 has been nothing short of incredible, with record-breaking attendance at Lincoln Castle Illuminated, sold out performances from more of the biggest names in music, and national recognition through both VisitEngland’s Gold accolade and the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award.
“These successes reflect the strength of the castle’s offer and the dedication of the teams who work hard day in and day out to make it such a special place to visit.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors near and far for more great experiences in the year ahead.”
