Have your say: online counselling for children and young people

Share your views on online counselling support for children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health needs.

Lincolnshire County Council and NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board currently fund an online counselling support service called Kooth for young people aged 11–18 (up to 25 for care leavers or those with SEND). Kooth offers:

  • 1:1 chats with trained professionals
  • Group chats and forums
  • Self-help tools like articles and advice on topics like stress, anxiety, relationships, bullying and more

The current contract for the service is due to end in August 2026, and we are looking for feedback from children, young people, parents/carers and professionals to help inform future decision-making.

Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive member for children’s services, said: “We want to make sure that our mental health support for children and young people meets their needs and offers value for money. With the current contract for the online counselling support service coming to an end, it’s the ideal time for people to share their feedback on how things are working, which will help us decide the best way forward.”

The consultation runs from 20 January to 3 March, and you can take part online at www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/online-counselling-service-consultation
