The current contract for the Lincolnshire Edge of Care Service (often called Safe Families) is due to end on 30 June 2026.

The volunteer-based service provides support for families whose children are at risk of entering the care of the local authority. Support includes parenting advice, practical help at home, day-time care and time-limited overnight stays for children and young people.

Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive member for children’s services, said: “Like other parts of the country, Lincolnshire has seen more children entering the care system in recent years. Our focus is on providing effective early intervention to prevent more serious issues developing.

“With the contract for the Edge of Care service coming to an end later this year, it’s the right time for us to review how things are working. As part of that process, we’re looking for people to share their views on the service, so we can decide the best way to continue supporting families in need.”

The consultation runs until 2 March. To take part visit, www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/edge-of-care-service-safe-families
