Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue’s Christmas events raise a record £34,000 for charity.
The results are in, and they’ve done it again…
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue’s stations have been out in all weather, holding Santa sleigh rides, grottos and open days, to raise money for worthy causes over Christmas.
The totals are in, and last Christmas’ fundraising efforts have raised £34,088.38 for charity, topping 2024’s record-breaking year by over £1,500.
Comments from Cllr Alex McGonigle, executive councillor for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of our crews. Simply put, they’ve all done a fantastic job.
“2024 was a record-breaking year itself, so to pass that mark so quickly really goes to show how our teams go all out to make this a highlight of the year for their communities.
“A massive thank you to everyone who’s put in the work behind the scenes to make these events possible, and an even bigger thank you to everyone who’s supported our crews, whether that’s through donations or cheering them on. It’s all for worthy causes, and it really does make a difference.”
The majority of funds raised will go towards the Fire Fighters Charity, which supports firefighters, present and past, and their families when they need it the most. Find out more about the fantastic work they do on their website.
