Overnight works scheduled for pothole repairs on section of the A15.
Ashley Behan, Traffic Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “These works are necessary along this section of the A15 to ensure that the route remains safe and reliable for all road users.
“Our repairs will mean that the road is smoother, safer and more durable for all users, who should notice a difference to the driving quality.”
Location of works
The works cover multiple pothole patching areas along the A15 between the A1500 Lincolnshire Showground roundabout and the A46 Riseholme roundabout in Lincoln.
Dates and times
The works will take place overnight on Wednesday 22 April, with crews working from 8pm to 6am.
Traffic management
For the safety of road users and the workforce, a full road closure will be in place for the duration of the works wth a diversion route in place throughout. Access for residents will be maintained and crews will assist anyone needing to enter or leave the area during the work programme, where possible.
Diversion route
The signed diversion is along the A46 towards Burton Water / A57 towards Saxilby / A156 towards Torksey and Torksey Lock / Tillbridge Lane (A1500) towards Sturton by Stow, following until the Lincolnshire Showground roundabout (A15) and vice versa.
Ashley Behan added: “The signed diversion is longer than those familiar with the area may expect. We know that there are a several shorter routes that local people will know. However, we sign diversions along like for like roads, to ensure all vehicles, including HGVs, travel on the most suitable alternative routes.
“We appreciate how important the A15 is as a strategic commuter route, so these works are being carried out at night when traffic flows are lower, to significantly reduce the disruption to road users. I’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding whilst the improvements are completed.”
