Minor repairs will be carried out for up to two weeks later this month.
Sam Edwards, head of highways infrastructure, said: “Our technical laboratory routinely tests new road surfaces to make sure they meet the high standards we require.
“In this case, some of the surfacing laid on the A153 in Horncastle and the A15 in Dunsby hasn’t met those standards and has started to prematurely deteriorate.
“As a result, the contractor will be carrying out the necessary remedial works under the terms of the contract, at no cost to the council.”
The works will start on Monday 22 June for up to two weeks.
As part of works, the following night-time road closures will be in place from 7pm to 7am:
- Monday 22 June and Tuesday 23 June / A15 Dunsby
- Diversion via A15 / B1191 / B1188 / A153 / A17 / A15
- Wednesday 24 June / Hemingby Lane in Horncastle
- Diversion via Hemingby Lane / Shearmans Wath / A158 / A153
- Thursday 25 June / Louth Road in Horncastle (including temporary traffic signals)
- Diversion via A153 / A158 / A16 / A153
- Friday 26 June / Louth Road (including works to Lancaster Avenue and Low Toynton Road)
- Diversion via A153 / A158 / A16 / A153
- Monday 29 June - Hemingby Lane in Horncastle
- Diversion via Hemingby Lane / Shearmans Wath / A158 / A153
- Tuesday 30 June – Louth Road and Hemingby Lane in Horncastle
- Diversion via A153 / A158 / A16 / A153 or Hemingby Lane / Shearmans Wath / A158 / A153
Sam continued: “Repairing these defects now will not only save the council money and time in the future, but it will prevent further disruption down the line.
“Because these works will inevitably cause some disruption, I want to thank everyone in advance for bearing with us.”
