It’s for one-night only in the middle of July.
Anthony Gent, Principle Engineer at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "These works are being carried out on the tidal flow system at Canwick Road to ensure it continues operating safely and reliably.
“It’s an important annual inspection that keeps the system in good working order and helps maintain the efficiency of this key route.”
Location of works
The works will take place on the tidal flow system on Canwick Road.
Dates and times
The works will take place on Thursday 16 July from 20.00 until 06.00 for one night only.
Traffic management
A road closure will be required for the duration of the works, with access for residents maintained.
Diversion route
The southbound route will be: Melville Street / Pelham Street / Oxford Street / St Marys Street / Wigford Way / Newland / Carholme Road / Brayford Way / Ropewalk / High Street / South Park / South Park Avenue / Canwick Road.
Northbound route: South Park Avenue / South Park / High Street / Tentercroft Street / Cross Street / Portland Street / Canwick Road.
Anthony Gent added: “The work involves checking, cleaning and repairing all aspects of the tidal flow system so that it remains well maintained and continues to operate as intended.
“We will carry out the programme across one night, to keep disruption as low as possible. Our team will complete the inspection as efficiently as we can to get the road network back to normal by the morning.
“I’d like to thank everyone affected for their patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work.”
