Easier Parking all-round as new system comes into the county

No matter what app is on your phone already, you'll be able to use it at all locations - right across Lincolnshire

Parking is set to become more simple and more flexible as the county has now joined the National Parking Platform. The move, which is the first time the NPP system has been introduced in Lincolnshire, has brought all pay‑by‑phone parking under one umbrella system, giving drivers the freedom to use a range of familiar apps instead of being tied to a single provider.

Lincolnshire County Council says the change will make parking easier for residents, visitors and commuters who already rely on phone‑based payments in other parts of the country.

Matt Jones, Parking Manager at LCC, said: "People want parking to be straightforward. They want to pull up, open the app they already use and get on with their day. Joining the National Parking Platform means drivers in Lincolnshire will have that choice. It brings us in line with the way people expect to pay and removes the frustration of having to download a different app for every car park."

With the system now live, drivers can pay for parking using any of the NPP‑aligned apps, including APCOA Connect, Appyparking, Caura, JustPark, PayByPhone and RingGo. A new pay‑by‑phone number: 0333 200 8080, is also available for those who prefer to pay without using an app.

The National Parking Platform is a national system designed to make parking more connected and more consistent across the UK. By joining, Lincolnshire becomes part of a wider shift towards an interoperable parking infrastructure that gives drivers more control over how they pay.

David Sinclair, Executive Director of the National Parking Platform, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Lincolnshire County Council to the National Parking Platform.

“Their decision to join reflects the momentum behind a more connected and customer‑focused approach to parking. The platform is designed to give drivers greater choice and make parking simpler, and Lincolnshire’s involvement strengthens the national network."

The council says the change will help reduce confusion for visitors, support smoother payments and give drivers more confidence that they are using a system that works the same way wherever they see the NPP symbol.

Matt Jones added: "This is about making things easier for the people who use our car parks every day. The technology is already there and people are used to it. Bringing Lincolnshire onto the platform means we can offer a better, more flexible service that fits the way people live and travel."
