This year’s FAB Awards have again recognised the astonishing achievements of some of the children in the care of Lincolnshire County Council and care experienced young people.
This year’s awards attracted a record-breaking number of nominations, with over 1,500 children and young people nominated, including five children who received five nominations each.
At a special celebratory event at the University of Lincoln, attended by nearly 200 children and young people, awards were presented in the following categories: Creating, Achieving, Making a Difference, Persevering, Future-Focused and Life Skills.
Among those presenting the awards was Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive member for children’s services. She said: “I was so pleased that I got the opportunity to spend this special day with these extraordinary young people.
“Like every good parent, we want the children and young people in our care to excel across a range of areas like education, employment, life skills and the arts. And it’s vital that we celebrate those who do just that, to help inspire others on to great things.
“It’s remarkable what they’ve managed to achieve, despite often facing significant challenges. I can’t wait to hear about their many future successes and promise that we will do all we can to help them fulfil their potential and follow their dreams.”
