Here’s an update on the live works at the junction because there are some changes happening this evening (Thursday 18 June).
Be aware that these changes will be in force from around 10pm tonight:
- Temporary traffic lights at Tritton Road / Doddington Road will move to a three‑way set-up
- Signals will be monitored and manually controlled from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week, to try and ease traffic flow disruption
- The one‑way closure on the west side of Doddington Road will be removed, as no work has taken place there
- Traffic will be able to use Doddington Road in both directions
- The full closure on the east side of Doddington Road will stay in place, as it has from the start of the works
This arrangement is expected to run until around Monday, June 29.
Ashley Behan, Traffic Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “I’m sorry for the disruption and confusion these works have caused. The lack of information, the slow progress and the constant changes have created problems for residents, businesses and road users. It isn’t acceptable.
“We’ve been clear with Cadent that this has to improve straight away, and we’ll be holding them to that.
“We’re carrying out a full review of how this has been handled so we can make sure lessons are learnt. In the meantime, while these revised arrangements are in place, I’d ask people to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, especially at peak times.
“We’ll keep doing everything we can to reduce the disruption and push for these works to be completed as quickly as possible.”
