Next month sees nightworks scheme being delivered
Work is planned on Willingham Road next month, with crews heading out at night to get the resurfacing done while the road is quieter.
Shaun Butcher, Highways Manager at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “These works are needed to renew the road surface and keep this part of the network in good condition.
“It’s a major piece of maintenance and will give Willingham Road a much better surface for everyone who uses it.”
Location of works
The works will take place on Willingham Road, Lea, between the A156 and The Grove.
Dates and times
The works are scheduled from 6 July to 20 July with work taking place Monday to Friday only. Night‑time working will be between 20.00 and 06.00.
Traffic management
A road closure will be in place during the night‑time works. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained. Traffic management staff will be on site to help.
Diversion route
The diversion route will be: A156 / A1500 / B1241
Access information
Access and exit for residents and businesses within the working area will be managed through the official diversion route where needed. Disruption will be kept as low as possible.
Additional information
The works involve removing and replacing the top 200mm of road material in three layers. The cost of the scheme is approximately £341,000.
Shaun Butcher added: “This is a full resurfacing job, so it’s a big piece of work. It will improve ride quality and skid resistance and make the route safer.
“We’re carrying out the programme at night to reduce disruption. The team will work as efficiently as they can, and any machines not needed will be turned off to keep noise levels down.
“Thanks to everyone affected for their patience while we get this improvement done.”
