We are reviewing how our advocacy service for adults can best help those who need its support.
Advocacy is a free, independent and confidential service that can help those using the council’s adult care services understand and be fully involved in important decisions about their life in line with the Care Act.
Advocacy can support you by:
- advocating on your behalf to make your views and wishes heard
- helping you think through different choices and options available to you so you can make your own decisions
- helping you understand your rights
- representing your views if you are unable to do so yourself
The current service is provided by Voiceability, with the current contract due to end on 31 January 2027. As part of the recommissioning process, we are asking for feedback to help shape the service for the future.
Cllr Steve Clegg, executive member for adult care and health, said: “The advocacy service supports people to understand information, express their views and take part in decisions about their care.
“With the current contract nearing its end, we want to hear what people think about the service, what’s working well, what can be improved, so that that feedback can help shape the way advocacy is delivered moving forward.
“As always, we’re keeping an open mind, and no decisions have been taken. Please do share your thoughts, so we can ensure the service is offering you the right support, in the right way.”
You can share your feedback by completing the online survey at www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/adult-advocacy-consultation before 10 August.
