Celebrating our four new family hubs!

Three children playing in a family hub

Four family hubs are opening in Lincoln, meaning parents will be able to benefit from more support than ever before.

To celebrate, each new Best Start Family Hub is holding a special launch event, offering a whole host of fun activities for children. Among the attractions will be Little City, a mobile play area where children can be grown-ups and role play the hairdresser, the firefighter, the builder, the café owner and much, much more.

Our early years team will also be offering visitors a taste of the many group sessions that are held in the hubs, as well as answering any questions families might have about our wide range of support programmes, which can help them navigate pregnancy through to their child starting school.

Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive member for children’s services, said: “One of our top priorities is ensuring that all Lincolnshire children get the best start in life.

“It’s well known that a child’s first 1,001 days have a lasting impact on their long-term development and future success. But this can be a challenging period for parents, particularly those who are having to deal with other difficulties in their life.

“That’s why we’re committed to ensuring families can access the right support, in the right place and at the right time to meet their needs. These new family hubs will do just that, building upon the success of our children’s centres to offer families more support than ever before.”

The launch events take place on the following dates:

  • Thursday 23 July – Lincoln Moorland, De Wint Avenue, Lincoln LN6 7DT
  • Friday 24 July – Lincoln Central, St Andrews Close, Lincoln LN5 7XT
  • Thursday 30 July – Lincoln Abbey, Lincoln Baptist Church, Croft Street, Lincoln LN2 5AX
  • Friday 31 July – Bracebridge, Bud Robinson Community Centre, Maple Street, Lincoln LN5 8QT

All run from 10am to 2pm.
