Only a few days left to get a tailored sunshine energy deal for your home
If you want to get in on this then you need to get a move on because registration for the Switch Together offer is closing on Friday, 24 July.
Solar on your house is a great way to bag energy, but knowing which way to turn if you’re interested can be daunting (which is why it’s so important to take advantage of this scheme while you can).
Switch Together is a partnership between Lincolnshire County Council and domestic solar supplier iChoosr. It’s designed to help private households buy solar technology at a competitive price. There’s no commitment needed in order to see what’s available for your home.
How it works is:
- Households across the county register with Switch Together
- Their locations are pooled together and iChoosr uses that collective interest to negotiate prices for the necessary kit
- By bringing people together, the scheme uses group buying power to secure better rates from trusted solar panel providers
- It takes the guesswork out of trying to find a decent solar deal on your own and gives residents a clearer, more confident route into renewable energy
The scheme gives homeowners the chance to invest in solar panels and battery storage, with optional EV charge points. There’s also the option of retrofit battery storage for anyone who already has solar panels and wants to make better use of the energy they generate. There’s even the possibility of earning money from unused solar power by exporting it back to the Grid.
How you get involved is like this:
- Register for free online, there’s no obligation
- Approved solar installers then bid for the work in a reverse auction. The most competitive offer wins
- You’ll receive a personal outline of what’s on offer based on your registration details, including costs and specifics of your installation
- You decide. There’s a four-week period where you can accept the recommendation or walk away
Cllr Danny Brookes, Executive Member for Environment at LCC, said: “It’s fantastic that so many people have already signed up to see what Switch Together can offer but with the deadline on July 24, I’d encourage anyone who’s been thinking about solar to register and get the information that's right for them.
“This scheme makes the process of getting solar for your home much more straightforward. You get a clear proposal, good quality systems and competitive prices, and what’s most important is that you’re free to walk away if you decide that this scheme is not for you.”
