An overview of progress on the Yarborough Hill embankment repair project.
What we achieved in July
- Removed existing retaining walls
- Installed 100m of new drainage
- Constructed 4 new manholes
- Built 11 layers of the southern section of earthworks
- Installed earthworks grids to improve slope stability
What’s happening in August
- Complete the northern section of earthworks
- Continue installing earthworks grids to improve the stability of the new embankment
- Install new small block retaining wall
- Complete new groundwater drainage systems in the park
Current/ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- Layby permanently closed
- Narrowed lanes and temporary traffic signals when required throughout the project
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Night-time road closure from 7pm to 6am on Yarborough Road, weekday evenings only, from mid-August
