Your child’s first day at school is an exciting experience, but it can also be a little overwhelming – Lincolnshire’s family hubs and children’s centres are here to help!
Cllr Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services, said: “As a parent I know just how exciting a time this is for families. Starting primary school is a significant milestone and marks the beginning of a journey of learning, friendship and discovery.
“We want every child to have the best possible start to school. We know that children thrive when families, early years settings and schools work together to build confidence, independence and a sense of belonging from the very beginning.
"Parents and carers play a vital role in preparing children for school. Simple everyday activities such as sharing books, encouraging children to dress themselves, wash their hands, use the toilet independently and talk about their feelings can make a real difference.
"And remember, Lincolnshire’s children's centres, Family Hubs and early years providers are on hand to help ensure children are school-ready. Whether your child is eager to start school or feeling a little nervous, there’s help and guidance available to ensure their first day is a success.
"To all children starting school this September, I wish you a wonderful start. Enjoy every new experience, make new friends, be curious and have fun learning. We look forward to seeing you take your first steps on this exciting journey."
