Our Leaving Care Service has been shortlisted for the Children & Young People Now Awards 2026.
The team provides invaluable support to care-experienced young people, helping them move into adulthood successfully. This includes advice on matters such as where to live; work, learning and money; relationships; and health and wellbeing.
They have been nominated for this year’s Leaving Care Award.
Cllr Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services, said: “It’s impossible to overstate the dedication, commitment and passion shown by this fantastic team in supporting the young people they work with. It’s wonderful to see their hard work recognised in this way.
“The young people they support can often have complex needs, but, thanks to the team’s efforts, they are able to find their feet in the adult world and live successful lives.
“The team continue to work tirelessly to find new opportunities and positive experiences that make a real difference to young lives. They should be incredibly proud of all they’ve accomplished. Congratulations on this well-deserved nomination.”
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at the end of November.
