Boston is getting a £52,000 rebuild of a concrete road in need of improvement.
An extensive scheme of concrete carriageway improvements are being carried out at 13 different sites across the county with the latest (this is road number 4 of the 13) happening on Witham Gardens in Boston.
The work will provide a smoother and more reliable surface for residents and help keep the road in better condition for longer into the future.

Dates and times
Concrete repairs to the slab of the road are taking place between Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th August. Surfacing work to the road will follow and that’s going to happen from Wednesday, 2nd to Friday 4th September, with post jointing scheduled for Tuesday 22nd September. All work is being carried out Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 17:30 with no weekend working planned.
Traffic management
No diversion route is required as Witham Gardens is not a through road. Access for residents and businesses is being maintained wherever it is safe to do so. Short sections of carriageway may remain fenced off while fresh concrete cures. This is essential to ensure the repaired slabs reach full strength before traffic drives across it.
About the concrete road works
The scheme includes replacing the top 40mm of road material in a single layer, carrying out slab replacement where structural issues are found, and returning to complete saw cutting and sealing at joint locations once the surfacing has settled. These steps help protect the road from future wear and reduce the need for larger repairs later on.

This singular part of the overall concrete scheme will cost approximately £52,000.

Once complete, road users can expect improved ride quality, better skid resistance and a reduction in traffic noise. The improvements will help extend the life of the road and support the long-term condition of the local road network.
