And there’s almost £200,000 still to be allocated from the council’s Strategic Grant Fund.
A new disabled toilet in Hundleby, flood pumps in Billingborough, and an archaeological dig in Norton Disney are just three of the community projects that have received funding from Lincolnshire County Council.
Ten projects have initially been awarded money from the Strategic Fund as part of the Councillor Community Grant Fund, having been put forward by county councillors to benefit communities across Lincolnshire.
The Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service has received a £15,000 cash injection towards a new vehicle for their vital work transporting blood, equipment and supplies around the county in urgent medical situations.
As part of the Councillor Community Grant Fund, launched earlier this year, a total of £290,000 was made available for this Strategic Fund. All projects are put forward by councillors on behalf of community groups and not for profit organisations, who can receive grants of between £3,000 and £15,000.
Cllr Rob Gibson, deputy leader of Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We’ve had a good range of different projects come forward since we launched earlier this summer, and there is still scope for more groups to benefit. Contact your local county councillor if you would like them to consider your community project.
“Strategic fund grants are available from £3,000 to £15,000 and are assessed against criteria to demonstrate how the funding will make a difference and help meet the council’s objectives. And each councillor also has access to £3,000 each for ‘divisional grants’ for smaller projects too – anything from £100.”
Successful applications in the first round of the Strategic Grant Fund have now been agreed.
These projects are:
- £7,000 to Billingborough Flood Group to purchase flood pumps and associated equipment to enable hyper local flood alleviation (put forward by Cllr Martin Hill).
- £11,500 to Cowbit Parish Council to improve the accessibility of the pavilion in Cowbit Park, with a wheelchair ramp to the outside and accessible toilet (put forward by Cllr Raymond Condell and Cllr Thomas Sneath).
- £15,000 to Hundleby Parish Council for a disabled toilet in Hundleby Parish Rooms (put forward by Cllr Philip Roberts).
- £15,000 to the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service (LEBBS) for the purchase of a replacement vehicle (put forward by Cllr Alan Woodruff).
- £5,000 to CVS Lincolnshire to run community events projects and sessions (put forward by Cllr Stuart Grantham).
- £6,000 to Addlethorpe Parish Council for two speed indicators (put forward by Cllr Danny Brookes).
- £4,500 to Thorold Community Benefit Society to replace the fire door at the rear of the Thorold community pub and repaint the interior (put forward by Cllr Ken Bamford).
- £7,500 to North Hykeham Rugby Club Juniors for generator powered floodlighting and equipment for the club which is relocating (put forward by Cllr Alan Woodruff).
- £15,000 to Burgh Le Marsh Town Council for the renovation of Burgh Le Marsh community hub (put forward by Cllr Jimmy Brookes).
- £6,000 to Norton Disney History and Archaeology Group for the community excavation of Roman Archaeology in the Potter Hill area of Norton Disney in June 2027 (put forward by Cllr Marianne Overton).
