A major carriageway improvement scheme will take place on Freiston Road in Boston later this month to improve road conditions and provide a safer, smoother journey for road users.

Cllr David East, executive member for highways, said: "This is a very important improvement scheme that will see Freiston Road fully rebuilt to ensure it remains safe and reliable for everyone who uses it for years to come.

"By carrying these works out now, we're helping extend the life of the road, reduce the need for more significant repairs in the future and provide a smoother, more comfortable journey for residents, businesses and visitors.

"The team will use approximately 1,300 tonnes of road-building material during the project, representing a significant investment in maintaining Lincolnshire's road network.”

Cllr Sam French, county councillor for Skirbeck, added: “This scheme will make a real difference for people travelling through the area. The road is showing signs of wear and tear, so now is the right time to invest in its future.

“The finished result will be a safer, smoother and more reliable road for residents, local businesses and visitors alike. I’m pleased to see this investment being made and would like to thank everyone for their patience while the work is carried out.”
