Residents in Boston will have the chance to find out more about protecting their properties from flooding when the Environment Agency's FloodMobile visits the town next month.
The visit forms part of a wider Lincolnshire tour, which starts in Boston on Wednesday, 28th October, before heading to Mablethorpe on Wednesday, 4th November and then Market Rasen on Tuesday, 8th December.
Often described as a 'flood house on wheels', the FloodMobile gives people the opportunity to step inside a typical home setting and see how a range of flood resilience products work in practice.
Flood doors, barriers, airbrick covers and non-return valves are among the measures on display.
Specialists from the Environment Agency, Lincolnshire County Council, the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum and partner organisations will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and offer advice.
The event is aimed at anyone who wants to better understand flood risk and the steps that can be taken to reduce the impact flooding can have on homes and businesses. Whether residents have experienced flooding before or simply want to know more about preparing for severe weather, they are encouraged to call in and speak to the team.
Visitors will be able to get a closer look at the products on display and learn more about the different options available to property owners. As every building is different, the most suitable measures will depend on individual circumstances, but the FloodMobile provides a useful starting point for anyone considering how to make their property more resilient.
The FloodMobile will be at the Co-op on Seacroft Road between 11am and 4pm. Attendance is free and there is no need to book.
