Help shape a new Youth Strategy for Lincolnshire

adults and young people arm in arm

We need your feedback to make sure our young people have access to the right activities and services to support their wellbeing and development.

We run a range of positive activities primarily designed for young people aged 11 up to 19, as well as offering targeted support to those facing particular challenges or difficulties. In addition, we support families through community-based services and events. Our team also works with community partners, youth centres and other youth-focused projects, providing guidance, advice and practical support to help more young people get involved.

We’re currently developing a new Youth Strategy to guide this work. We want to hear what young people, families, organisations and communities think about youth services in Lincolnshire, including what works well, what could be improved and what should be prioritised in the future.

Cllr Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services, said: “For far too long, there’s been a lack of opportunities for teenagers across the county. When I came into office, I was determined to change that, and improving the quality of our youth work became a very early priority for me.

“I want us to do much more for our young people. However, it’s important that we’re providing the right support, in the right place and at the right time. That’s why I want to know what you would like to see change.

“Your views will influence the development of our new Youth Strategy. We’ve already been speaking with young people and stakeholders, and this consultation will build on what we have heard so far.

“We want to hear your thoughts on what’s working well and where improvements are required. We also want to know whether there are other activities, support or opportunities you think young people would benefit from, and how our services can better support their wellbeing.”

You can share your views by completing an online survey at www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/youth-strategy-consultation before 4 January 2027.

Young people will also have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas through a programme of conversations, workshops and interactive activities. These sessions will involve more detailed discussions and encourage greater participation from groups who may be less inclined to complete a survey.

The feedback we receive will be brought together and used to help shape Lincolnshire’s final Youth Strategy.
