A46 Riseholme update – Drainage and earthworks to continue throughout August

Improvements to the roundabout's southwest and northeast corners are the primary focus for the coming period.

What we achieved in July:

  • Completed asphalting of the northwest and southeast corners widened sections
  • Started excavating the southwest and northeast corners for widening
  • Laid 300m of new water main for the Anglian Water main diversion
  • Installed three new road crossings for utilities
  • Constructed a new footway on southeast corner of the roundabout
  • Completed kerbing and drainage work on southwest and northeast corners

What's happening in August:

  • Continue earthworks and drainage works on the southwest and northeast corners
  • Lay kerbing for the new road alignment on the southwest and northeast corners
  • Continue earthworks to embankments and top-soiling of verges
  • Complete drainage and gullies on southwest and northeast corners
  • Carry out gas and water main diversions out of new carriageway, including near the St Georges Lane junction

 Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures:

  • Night-time closures on the eastern end of the roundabout during the middle of August – DATES TBC
  • Night-time closures of the roundabout's A15 northern and eastern arms, as well as St Georges Lane towards the end of August – DATES TBC
