Improvements to the roundabout's southwest and northeast corners are the primary focus for the coming period.
What we achieved in July:
- Completed asphalting of the northwest and southeast corners widened sections
- Started excavating the southwest and northeast corners for widening
- Laid 300m of new water main for the Anglian Water main diversion
- Installed three new road crossings for utilities
- Constructed a new footway on southeast corner of the roundabout
- Completed kerbing and drainage work on southwest and northeast corners
What's happening in August:
- Continue earthworks and drainage works on the southwest and northeast corners
- Lay kerbing for the new road alignment on the southwest and northeast corners
- Continue earthworks to embankments and top-soiling of verges
- Complete drainage and gullies on southwest and northeast corners
- Carry out gas and water main diversions out of new carriageway, including near the St Georges Lane junction
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures:
- Night-time closures on the eastern end of the roundabout during the middle of August – DATES TBC
- Night-time closures of the roundabout's A15 northern and eastern arms, as well as St Georges Lane towards the end of August – DATES TBC
