Artisan Market returns to The Collection

Artisan Market at The Collection

The Artisan Market will be back at the Lincoln museum on the 19 and 20 October with a range of products all handmade by local artists, crafters and small businesses.

The market is free to enter, although donations are welcome, and will be complemented by activities for children, including face-painting, a fun trail and hands-on craft sessions with the Crafty Crew.

There will also be acoustic music by local musicians, as well as performances by Jainaba West-African Styled Drumming group, which visitors can get involved in.

Ann Worrell, Visitor Experience Officer, said: "We'll have over 25 stalls offering a wide range of products, including woodwork, prints, illustrations, handmade toiletries, as well as jewellery, glassware children's toys, felt, prints and original artwork.

"On top of the handmade crafts on the ground floor, this time there will also be a food and drink suite upstairs. We're really excited to have local food produce, including handmade chocolate and cakes, as well local gin producers Lincoln Gin.

"Following the success of our Easter Sunday market, which saw over 1,300 people through the doors, we've decided to run for a whole weekend this time.

"The market will also coincide with our upcoming major exhibition 'Victoria and Albert, Treasures from a Royal Marriage', which opens on Saturday 5 October. And there will be BIG DRAW events taking place in the Usher Gallery too, so there are plenty of reasons to visit us over the weekend".

The event will be open from 10am to 4pm each day. For more on all The Collection has to offer, visit www.thecollectionmuseum.com.
