
Drainage works, kerb installation, excavation of ditches and more planned for A46 Dunholme and Welton Roundabout this month.
What we achieved in July and August
- Major earthworks, including excavating and moving nearly 40,000 tonnes of material, which will be re-used for constructing the scheme's road, ponds and ditches
- Lowered the crest of the hill on the A46 towards Market Rasen by 2m to increase visibility
- Installed over a quarter mile of new, improved drainage on the north and south sides of the A46
- Altered the field level west of Lincoln Road by 1m to allow for construction of the new roundabout and alignment
- Laid new road surfacing on the A46 towards Market Rasen
What's happening in September
- Carry out drainage works, including building new manholes and installing gullies, in the verges on the A46 on the new Lincoln Road alignment west of the existing Lincoln Road
- Installed kerbs on the new Lincoln Road alignment west of the existing Lincoln Road
- Major road reconstruction works on the A46 towards Dunholme
- Prepare for utility diversions, including Anglian Water and BT
- Continue excavation of ditches along the route of the new Lincoln Road
Current/Ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- Temporary 30mph speed limit on the A46 and Lincoln Road Welton
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Night-time closures on the A46, between Lincoln Road (to Welton) up to the Scothern Lane crossroads, from 7pm to 6am, M-F, for four weeks starting on Thursday 3 September (subject to suitable weather)
- The diversion route during the closure will be via A631 to A15 to A46 Riseholme, and vice versa.
- Temporary traffic signals, as required, from 9:30am to 3pm on the A46 from Thursday 3 September until early December
