
The roundabout works continue with 1km of carriageway already completed on the A46 between Lincoln Road and Scothern Lane crossroads, two weeks ahead of schedule.
What we achieved in September
- Completed 1km of carriageway reconstruction, white lining and drainage cleansing on the A46, between Lincoln Road (to Welton) up to the Scothern Lane crossroads, two weeks ahead of schedule
- Installed over 300m of new kerbing at the new Lincoln Road alignment
- Installed three new manholes and 15 new gullies on site
- Installed approximately 300m of new drainage pipes and 450m of new street lighting ducts
- Completed the new 1000m2 pond
- Excavated 550m of ditches
What's happening in October
- Begin work to demolish and reconstruct the current dangerous bend on Lincoln Road with a straighter, safer alignment
- Carry out Anglian Water diversions, including mains and supply to local properties
- Carry out BT cable diversion along the full length of the project
- Lay the first layer of new road surfacing on the roundabout and new Lincoln Road alignment
- Continue installation of drainage pipes and outfalls, street light ducting/boxes and new kerbs
Current/Ongoing traffic restrictions and closures
- Temporary 30mph speed limit on the A46 with off peak two-way lights when required
Upcoming traffic restrictions and closures
- Full road closure of Lincoln Road Welton from Monday 5 October for three months
- Diversion via Honeyholes Lane / Ryland Road / Lincoln Road Dunholme / A46, and vice versa
- Right-turn ban from A15 onto Heath Lane into Welton and from Heath Lane onto A15
- In place until Lincoln Road Welton works are complete
- Temporary traffic signals, as required, from 9:30am to 3:30pm on the A46 from now until early December
